This piece was written in 2015 based on a poem I wrote following a 2014 suicide attempt. It was premiered Ars Nova in 2018 after winning their annual composition competition.

Text:

Walk as ghost.
Eyes quite hollow.
Moon shadows mark your map
Spirit horse watches sadness
Drip from your eyes
to your tracks.

Feet float cross silver and wood.
In distance, star distance
Timeless no direction.
Finally you can
breathe.

Distant light like moon
off lover's eyes.

Lie down.
Lie down for eternal rest.
No perfect night to rest.
Arise! Arise!
Rise from grave!

As ever fearful of life
than death.
