Join me & Ravyn Rose Fox for Reclaiming Mad Magic, a six-session workshop exploring the intersections of madness, witchcraft, and liberation. Together, we will examine the social and political forces that have shaped how madness is understood, experienced, and responded to while also exploring the spiritual, mystical, and ancestral dimensions of these experiences that have historically been pathologized, marginalized, and suppressed.
Drawing from Mad Pride, psychiatric abolition, anti-colonial perspectives, mythology, witchcraft, and lived experience, we will investigate how dominant frameworks of mental health have shaped our relationships to altered states of consciousness, unusual perceptions, and ways of knowing. We will also explore the possibilities of reclaiming madness as an experience that can hold meaning, mystery, and spiritual significance beyond the confines of psychiatric diagnosis.
Pre-requisites: Elements of Magic or equivalent foundational witchcraft experiences - must be fluent in grounding, coming home to yourself, coming in and out of trance states with choice and intention.
Each group session is 3 hours long, with discussion, reflection, and experiential practices woven throughout.
The workshop also includes scheduling one individual 1:1 session with either Ravyn Rose or Silen to further digest the themes of class.
