Times of great loss and change are times of initiation, they are portals for growth and awakening. It is in this shimmering, liminal moment that we as witches, magic makers, artists and creatives can and must be most effective.  

In this class, we will be exploring our own mythic landscapes, and use the tool of Tarot to storytell, deepen, and understand ourselves as ritual artists. Students should have their own Tarot deck for this class, but don’t need to have an established Tarot practice to join us. Beginning Tarot readers are welcome!

We will be learning valuable ritual arts such as:

• Trance - how to lead trances and using trance as part of ritual

• Myth - exploring the story of the Major Arcana and how to work with the story to enhance the mythology of our own lives 

• Mystery -  building relationship with, listening to and Aspecting the Spirits

• Improvisation - learning ways to work with the unknown and to “play” in ritual 

• Creativity - how rhythm, chant, song and movement enhance magical spaces 

This is a core class in the Reclaiming tradition.  We ask that you have attended an Elements of Magic class or been to a Reclaiming ritual or contact us directly about your ritual experience.

Iron Pentacle: the Queer, the Folk & the Fallen Ones

Starting Saturday, February 7th, Lilo Assenci & I will be running another cohort of our online class, Iron Pentacle: the Queer, the Folk & the Fallen Ones!

We taught this class last year and it was such a deep, potent and sensuous delight and I’m excited to commune again with this powerful being we call the Iron Pentacle.

A core class in the Reclaiming witchcraft tradition, the Iron Pentacle is made of 5 points, each named with a word that troubles, hunts, and dares the human in us: Sex, Pride, Self, Power, and Passion. 

Iron Pentacle has always been a Queer tool, embracing these words that provoke, that are called “sin” by over-culture. In this class, we will explore the queer majesty of reclaiming these words and the power that comes from Otherness.

Throughout this class we will work closely with the Star Goddess and honor the Fallen Ones, those great seraphic winged serpents, mighty currents of power creating and recreating the universe over and over again as we descend from them. When they fell in love with humankind, with our magic and mystery, they loved the red women, the beautiful boys, and the androgynous gender-bender beings. And it was in this union, that magic was unleashed into the world.

Come commune with the Fallen Ones, with your own magic, and the tools that come from folktales such as these~

To become a vessel for the spirits is to develop deeper intimacy, interconnectedness, wisdom, and agency to ourselves, our communities, and the greater cosmos. In this workshop, we will:

• Practice tools for developing deeper relationship with the Gods, Spirits, Mysterious Ones;

• Strengthen the vessel of our Self, boundaries of Self, and tools to exercise our agency, especially as it relates to having boundaries with Gods;

• Hone our capacities to ride altered states of consciousness with choice and intention;

• Engage devotional tending and learn somatic tools for embodiment — finesse our capacities for to priestex Gods in bodies and tend the aftercare of possessatory experiences;

• Get possessed. And get self-possessed.

Pre-requisites include Elements of Magic in the Reclaiming Tradition or an equivalent foundational experience with ritual; grounding; sensing energy; relating to Gods, spirits, or Mysterious Ones; coming in and out of trance states.
